Guy Charron - Head Coach

Guy Charron was introduced as the Blazers Head Coach on November 23, 2009. Charron has an extensive coaching background, including 17 seasons in the NHL, AHL, QMJHL and Hockey Canada as both a Head and Assistant Coach.

As a player, Charron played for the Montreal Junior Canadiens in the late 1960s. Charron would get his first taste of the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens, playing alongside Hall of Famers such as Jean Beliveau, Henri Richard and J.C. Tremblay. His playing career spanned 12 seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings, Kansas City Scouts and Washington Capitals. Charron played in 734 NHL games and totalled 530 points.

Charron has spent 13 seasons coaching in the NHL. He has been a Head and Assistant Coach for the Calgary Flames and Anaheim Ducks, as well as an Assistant Coach with the New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens and Florida Panthers. Charron's coaching career also includes winning a gold medal as the Head Coach of Canada's 1990 World Junior Hockey Team.

Charron brings experience, insight and passion to the hockey club. He looks forward to improving the team by teaching the players while instilling passion in them and their game.
